Auburn has everything you?re looking for to keep your child active, involved and entertained this summer. We offer summer camps for pre-school age through teens in various topics and settings. Week-long day camp options are offered for elementary school age and teens with weekly themes and adventures.

Parents? Night Out! Saturday, July 20 and August 17, 6-10pm. Drop your kids off at the Gymnasium at Les Gove Park for an evening of games, arts & crafts, inflatable toys and sports while you enjoy a parent night out. All activities will be facilitated and supervised by trained staff who have undergone a Washington State Patrol background check. Kids in the Parents? Night Out program will have exclusive use of the gym. For ages 4-11. Fee: $16/$20 first child; $10/$12 each additional sibling.

Music, music, and more music this summer. Check out Kids SummerStage on Wednesdays at 12 noon at Les Gove Park for a lively and entertaining series geared towards young audiences or Soundbites on Thursdays at noon at City Hall Plaza, 25 West Main Street for a lively, eclectic music series certain to quench your ears and appetite!

Free family-approved fun includes Bocce at Les Gove Park (with free instruction courtesy of the Auburn Bocce Club on Tuesday and Thursday through October 10 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.) Disc Golf at Game Farm Wilderness Park, and the Rotary Spray Park at Les Gove Park open daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Labor Day.

? Beginning/Essentials Pilates ? For new Pilates students, learn the basic principles of STOTT Pilates. Controlled movements focus on stretching and strengthening the muscles in your abdomen, back, buttocks and legs. Mondays, 5:30-6:30p, July 1-August 5, $62/$78.

? Yoga in the Viniyoga Tradition ? Viniyoga tradition relieves stress, tones the body and helps achieve balance in body, mind and emotions. Wednesdays, 6-7:15p, July 10-August 28, $68/$85; senior discount fee $63/$79. Flex Option available.

Community Interest

? NEW Home Food Preservation ? Series of seven classes that will instruct you on the main techniques for preserving food in shelf stable forms at home. Class will include hands on experience, hand outs and resource lists. July 13-Canning Fruits & Tomatoes; August 3-Pressure Canning;August 17-Pickling; September 7-Fermentation; Saturdays, 1-3p, individual class fees $35/$44; senior discount fee $31/$39.

Sports & Athletics

Registrations are now being accepted for the youth sports programs including soccer, golf, and tennis. Costs vary based on the program.

Sponsorsare being sought for youth athletic teams for the spring and fall. Sponsors receive their business or organization name and logo on a T-shirt uniform, an 8x10 team photo plaque and the benefit of helping youth enjoy a positive recreation experience. The sponsorship fee is $195 per team.

The Gymnasium at Les Gove Park offers a variety of activities:

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is now taking registrations for the following adult sports:

? Flag Football ? Summer League: Teams play eight games in this popular six-a-side league. The league begins July 14 and runs through Aug 11. Early registration deadline is June 26. Fee is $650 per team.

? Tennis: Lessons are offered for beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate players July-August.

? Golf: Group lessons are offered July-August for beginner and intermediate players

Registrations is now open for basketball teams and players of all ages and abilities for the inaugural EmD3-On-3 two-day basketball tournament hosted by Emerald Downs on August 10-11, 2013. Held on 30 courts in the north parking lot of the Auburn track, the event is expected to attract players from all over Washington.

Toddler, Pre-School & Elementary Kids

For fun summer camp options for the elementary school age kids, check out day camps, theater camps, dance and gymnastics camps, sport camps, and more.

Toddler Indoor Playground -For ages 5 and under. Bring your child for socialization and fun! We provide balls, games, mats, riding toys, climbing toys and more in our gym. Summer hours through August 28 are Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m. Cost is $2 per child per session, $1 per additional child. 10-visit punch pass also available. No more than three children per adult. No registration required. Parent or caregiver must provide supervision of children at all times.

Preschool classes being the week of July 8. Don?t wait too long to sign up, classes fill early.

Small Fry: For ages 1-3 and parents to have fun exploring songs, crafts, painting and more. A great way to help your child develop fine motor and social skills on Tuesdays, Jul 9-Aug 13, 9:30-10:15am, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $42/$53.

Paintin? Pots: For ages 2-4 and parents to have fun with a variety of painting techniques. Every mom?s nightmare and every child?s dream to paint from their head to their toes. Thursdays, Jul 11-Aug 15, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $42/$53.

Alphabet Soup: For ages 3-5 to have fun with the Alphabet through crafts, games and songs. Tuesdays, Jul 9-Aug 13, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $42/$53.

Summer Safari: For ages 3-5. Join us for a safari hunt of animals. We will have a jungle of fun with crafts, games, stories and more on Thursdays, Jul 11-Aug 15, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $42/$53.

Ballerina Enchantment: Little ballerinas, 3-5 years will dance their hearts out on Fridays, Jul 12-Aug 2, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $40/$50.

Beginning Youth Horsemanship classes offered monthly. Upcoming class begins Wednesday, Jul 10-31 from 5-6 pm at Morris?s Shadow Mt. Stables. The fee is $120/$150.

Beginning Baton: Come learn the basics of a new and unique sport ? Baton Twirling. Batons provided with option to buy. Class meets Fridays, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Jul 12-Aug 2, at the Les Gove Park Building. The fee is $40/$50.

Are you looking for Before or After School Care? Around the Bell serves Lea Hill, Hazelwood, Dick Scobee, Evergreen Heights, Ilalko, Terminal Park and Washington. We serve grades 1-5. We open at 7 am and close at 6:00 pm. Five day and Three day options available. Registrations are now underway for the 2013-14 school year. Reserve your spot today with a $50 registration fee. Teens & Tweens

For fun summer camp options for the elementary school age kids, check out day camps, theater camps, dance and gymnastics camps, sport camps, and more.

Get Up! and Get Out! this summer. Teens and tweens can check out the free daily activities offered at Olympic Middle School. The program features daily soccer, basketball, kickball, playground fun as well as lunch and a snack provided by the Auburn School District. The program runs Monday-Friday from 11am-5pm from July 8 through August 23.

Auburn?s Youth Council constantly welcomes new members. The Youth Council volunteers at local events, helps collaborate on ideas that benefit Auburn and takes on other active roles in the community. Call 253-804-5052 for details and an application.

Auburn Ave Theater, located at 10 Auburn Avenue in downtown, will be the home all summer for Auburn Theater Camp. Performances of Disney?s The Little Mermaid are July 12 at 7:00 p.m. and July 13 at 2pm & 7pm and July 14 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $6 each for all shows.

Voting is now taking place and will close on August 5, 2013 for the City of Auburn?s new Downtown Sculpture Gallery in the heart of downtown Auburn, showcases seven outdoor sculptures in various sizes, types and medium. Primarily located along Main street, the sculpture gallery will rotate annually providing different artwork for Auburn residents to experience and enjoy. Be sure to cast your vote at www.auburnwa.gov/sculpturefor potential purchase to become part of the collection.

Art is on view at the City Galleries located at City Hall (25 W Main) and Auburn Senior Center?s Cheryl Sallee Gallery (808 Ninth Street SE). Fiber 19, a collaborative group of regional artists who attended the University of Washington?s Fiber Arts Certificate Program, will showcase at City Hall Gallery through July 17 a variety of fiber-based artwork including quilts, basketry, soft sculpture and mixed media assemblage. At the Cheryl Sallee Gallery, the fine photography of Larry Upton is on view through September 4, 2013

It?s a great option to help fit exercise into your busy summer schedule.
