Five Take-aways From Attending Conferences - Business ...

This past week I attended the Niche Affiliate Marketing System conference (NAMS8) and on reflection came away with a couple of reasons why I invest in a conference or training.?

First I get to meet neat people and share ideas.? It?s not the training, it?s the people.? Most conferences now allow ample time to network.? At this conference, lots of folks were sitting and talking and not attending every minute of the training.? Lunch and dinner were great times to connect with people.

Secondly, I have the opportunity to learn new things, see what the current thinking is and what is not working.? Staying abreast of the trends is useful, since marketing techniques change fairly rapidly in the internet marketing industry.? I also see how certain things that were the latest and greatest, are now commonplace and everyone is doing them.

Third, I get tremendous energy from interacting with other entrepreneurs and it makes me more motivated.? Often I have to resist the urge to run upstairs and get on the computer and work on a project.

Every time I get away from the everyday environment, the ideas start popping up.? This away time opens up a space for my thoughts and ideas to gell and come together.? It opens up the possibilities of what is possible.? On the way home, I came up with two new book ideas.? At a previous writing conference I came up with a killer product.

Finally, it?s fun to go to these.? Often they are in neat places that I have not been to or enjoy returning to.? Coming back full with energy and fresh motivation as well as a head full of techniques and ideas is a good way to spend a few days.
