Yesterday, Simon Cowell sort of, kind of, spoke about the baby his friend's wife Lauren Silverman is carrying ? neither confirming nor denying that the child was his. Now, Silverman and her husband (who is divorcing her) have made their first public statements about the story.
"My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife," Andrew Silverman?told People magazine in a statement. "Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process."
E! caught Lauren Silverman on Thursday with their son in Bridgehampton, N.Y, where the family has a home, sporting the baby bump. She also released a statement on Thursday through her attorneys.?
"I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son. I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this," she?told E! in a statement.
Additionally, her lawyers said, "We are working to resolve this situation in a fair and reasonable way that protects the best interests of our client and her son."
Andrew Silverman filed for divorce two weeks ago and the New York Daily News reported that he'd named Cowell as a co-respondent along with his wife, stating adultery was the reason their marriage had to end.
E! noted that Cowell's reps may hold a press conference early next week to address the story.
